m = 90 - 6d is the equation to determine m, the number of measures Harita still needs to  memorize, as a function of d, the number of days of practice since she began learning the piece

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that Harita must memorize 90 measures of music for her cello solo at a concert

To find: equation to determine m, the number of measures Harita still needs to  memorize, as a function of d, the number of days of practice since she began learning the piece

Let "m" be the number of measures Harita still needs to  memorize

Let "d" be the number of days of practice since she began learning the piece

Given that She plans on memorizing 18 new measures for  every 3 days of practice

<em><u>Rate per day is given as:</u></em>

\frac{18}{3} = 6

Therefore she memorises 6 per day

<em><u>Therefore, the equation that relates 'm' to 'd' is: </u></em>

m = total measures of music she must memorise - (number of measures she memorises per day x d)

m = 90 - 6(d)

m = 90 - 6d

Thus the required equation is found

Whats the normal arm span for these heights? : 4'10,4'11,5'0,5'4,5'5,5,'7,5'8,5'9,5'10,5'11,6'0
Svetllana [295]

In adults, the arm span is approximately 5 cm greater than the height in adult males and 1.2 cm in adult females. To calculate the arm span for the heights given, we add 5cm to their height. The following are the results:

Height                   Arm Span Length (in cm)

4’10                        152.32

4’11                        154.86

5’0                          157.4

5’4                          167.56

5’5                          170.10

5’7                          175.18

5’8                          177.72

5’9                          180.26

5’10                        182.80

5’11                        185.34

6’0                          187.88

To add, the total measurement of the length from the furthermost part of an individual's arms to the other end when raised equidistant to the ground at shoulder height at a 90º angle is called the arm span or wingspan.

What can you say about the y-values of the two functions ?
grandymaker [24]
Both exponential i.e 5 ^x
A is true, surprisingly.
B cannot be true, it alternates.(rule of indices negatives by positive exponent = positive, negative by negative , but -5 x -5 x -5 = + 5)
I'm only imaginging, but C must be right, since it increases exponentially, as opposed to D which only increases quadratically.
