Answer:

Europeans started exploring because they wanted spices, wealth, gold, expand trade routes and change of religion. These men were willing to risk there lives in order to get spices and gain wealth. The main reason that they went out to explore was for spices because they were so valuable. They wanted to trade directly with Africa and Asia, but this meant that they had to find a new sea route. The stakes were high. Finally, they explored for their own personal interest like fame from discovering new land.

2. How were medieval art and religion related?
Tju [1.3M]

Answer:

In the Medival times, the church had authority over knowledge and art. They were the ones who mostly funded the artists and who took most care of the art. Therefore, most of the medieval art we have today describes religious themes and ideas and is saved in the churches.

Explanation:

In the Medival times, knowledge and art were closely connected to the church. Usually, the church was very wealthy and politically influential at the time and held a kind of monopoly over the knowledge. <u>They were mostly the ones who funded art, so there was rather a lot of religious art during that time. </u>While there were artists who created secular art, not related to religion, they were less likely to have fundings and their work was not as carefully kept and preserved. <u>They also frequently made copies of scripts and religious writings, so a lot of insular art with Biblical themes is saved.</u>

<u>Most of the art surviving today from Midival times is kept at churches, presented there, or shows the religious teachings and scenes from the Bible. Around Europe, there are preserved churches, mosaics, frescoes, altars, and jewelry that were influenced by the Christian ideas and teachings, and likely funded by their money.</u> This is true of Catholic art, as well as of Byzantine – <u>in regions of both Christan teaching, the church had the most authority and religious art was the most prized one. </u>

How was the wooden marionette related to the wooden diving board?
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

A wooden marionette is a figure that is normally used for theatrics. It is controlled by a person who holds it from the upper part with a series of nylon strings which are attached to each of the marionette's extremities.

A Wooden diving board is normally found on the edge of swimming pools. It is used by amateur and professional divers in order to execute dives into the pool.

Both of them function by the principle of equilibrium. In the case of the marionette, the person who is operating it moves its fingers up and down in order to create movement. In the case of the diving board, the metal bolts which hold the board's structure cause an opposing force that ultimately serves as a counterbalance when the diver jumps into the other end of the board.
