Answer:

An operational definition is the preise meaning of a term used to describe a variable such as a type of behavior, which researchers want to measure.

Explanation:

Every variable used in a research must have two definitions: the conceptual definition and the operational definition. The conceptual definition is the one that can be found in a dictionary, it explains the construct and its relationship to other constructs. The operational definition defines de variable in terms of observable constructs that can be measured empirically. For example, when studying different types of behavior, the operational definition must make clear what empirical elements define each type of behavior.

gait and cognition: the relationship between gait stability and variability with executive function in persons with and without
tatuchka [14]

This study sought to better understand how executive function and gait stability and variability relate to older adults with and without dementia.

<h3>What do you mean by the term variability?</h3>

The degree to which the data points in a statistical distribution or data collection deviate from the average value and from one another is virtually by definition the measure of variability. This most frequently refers to the erratic nature of investment returns in financial terms. Professional investors' unpredictability of investment place equal importance on knowing the returns as they do on understanding the value of the returns themselves. Investors believe that a high degree of return fluctuation entails a high level of risk. Investors, therefore, expect a bigger return from assets with more return variability, like equities or commodities, than they could from assets with lower return variability, like Treasury bills.

Max Weber’s concept of ________ implies that, in conducting research, social scientists must try to understand others’ view of r
serg [7]

Answer:

verstehen

Explanation:

Verstehen is a German term that means to understand intensely and also applies to a sociological concept developed by Max Weber. According to this approach,  a researcher is trying to understand the lives of people from the perspective of another person, he may seek to put himself in the shoes of the other person. Researches try to gain insight into the other person by discussion or interaction and therefore their subjective analyses are important to understand society at a larger level.

List and explain 5 different examples of segregation (de facto or de jure). Use full sentences.
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

The first steps toward official segregation came in the form of “Black Codes.” These were laws passed throughout the South starting around 1865, that dictated most aspects of black peoples’ lives, including where they could work and live. The codes also ensured black people’s availability for cheap labor after slavery was abolished.

In 1896, the Supreme Court ruled in Plessy v. Ferguson that segregation was constitutional. The ruling established the idea of “separate but equal.” The case involved a mixed-race man who was forced to sit in the black-designated train car under Louisiana’s Separate Car Act.

As part of the segregation movement, some cities instituted zoning laws that prohibited black families from moving into white-dominant blocks. In 1917, as part of Buchanan v. Warley, the Supreme Court found such zoning to be unconstitutional because it interfered with property rights of owners.

The Public Works Administration’s efforts to build housing for people displaced during the Great Depression focused on homes for white families in white communities. Only a small portion of houses was built for black families, and those were limited to segregated black communities.

Segregation of children in public schools was struck down by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional in 1954 with Brown v. Board of Education. The case was originally filed in Topeka, Kansas after seven-year-old Linda Brown was rejected from the all-white schools there.
