Answer:

The movements of the sea urchins into habitats that already occupied by the black-lipped abalone will most likely cause an increase in the level of interspecific competition for resources. As a result of the range of extension of the sea urchins, the population of black-lipped abalone could decrease or both the sea urchin and black-lipped alone could evolve to use different resources.

Explanation:

Due to climate change, sea urchins are occupying an area previously inhabited by black-lipped ablone. These two organisms share similar habitats and food sources. Hence there will be competition for food resources.

Due to the range expansion of sea urchin the population of black-lipped ablone may likely to decrease as a negative effect of an increase in the population of sea urchin. To avoid this situation the organisms in the population of black-lipped ablone can shift to the other areas which is not largely inhabited by the sea urchin population.

This study was done by the researchers of University of Tasmania on the east coast of Tasmania, Australia as it is a real-life incident happening due to global climate change.

How do scientists decide when to change or modify their understanding of a particular topic?
Natali5045456 [20]

Answer:

they carry out experiments to understand it

Explanation:

Scientists raise hypotheses which are tested by experiments made under controlled conditions in order to explain a particular topic. When a hypothesis is confirmed by the experimental data, the evidence obtained from this experiment provides the basis to increase the scientific knowledge about a particular issue. In consequence, experimentation can be considered as a critical step in the scientific method and research aims to advance knowledge of a particular phenomenon by confirming a hypothesis, which must be testable (i.e. verifiable as a result of further experimentations).

What are the three types of species distribution patterns give an example of species that live in each
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

a biological taxon is spatially arranged. The geographic limits of a particular taxon's distribution is its range, often represented as shaded areas on a map. Patterns of distribution change depending on the scale at which they are viewed, from the arrangement of individuals within a small family unit, to patterns within a population, or the distribution of the entire species as a whole (range). Species distribution is not to be confused with dispersal, which is the movement of individuals away from their region of origin or from a population center of high density.
