Answer:

C. Food from all of the food groups.

Explanation:

In order to have a healthy and balanced diet, a person should eat five small portions of food on the daily basis.

Experts say that a balanced diet should consist of all the nutrients that are essential for the growth and development of one's organism. There are five food groups and each of them carries certain benefits and provides range of nutrients that should be taken on the daily basis. Every group has a role in helping our system function well and fighting the diseases and boosting our immune system.

Food groups are divided in five:

1. Grains. Like: bread, cereals, rice, pasta, etc.

They are rich in protein and fiber, antioxidants and minerals.

Eating grains reduces the risk of heart diseases, obesity and diabetes.

2. Vegetables and legumes. Like pepper, cucumber, tomato, onion, garlic, celery, carrot, peas, green peas, lentil, etc.

They are a great source of vitamins and minerals.

They are rich in magnesium, vitamin C, folate.

Experts recommend that an adult should have five serves of vegetables and legumes a day in order to keep a healthy body.

3. Fruit, like: berries, pomegranate, banana, grapefruit, orange, etc.

Fruit are low in calories and fat.

Fruit is rich in some of the nutrients that are not consumed enough like: potassium, fiber, vitamin C and folic acid.

Eating fruit on the daily basis reduces risk from suffering from a chronic disease.

4. Dairy, like: milk, yoghurt, greek yoghurt, cottage cheese, goat cheese and some of the alternatives: soy, coconut, rice and almond milk. Tofu cheese.

Dairy is full of calcium and protein, which is great for maintaining a healthy bone structure.

It's important for heart's beating, muscles and forming blood clots.

5. Red meat, fish, poultry, eggs, walnuts, almonds, chestnut, peanut, etc.

Eating meat helps us boost our metabolism. It makes us feel full, so we won't overeat.
