The six major elements of fiction are:
character, plot, point of view, setting, style, and theme.
Now non-fiction has many of the same elements, but it is different:
character, setting, plot, conflict, <u>figurative language</u>, and theme
A fictional story is mainly called fiction because pf the lack of proof supporting that it happened.
