President Regan claimed about the future of the space program:

(QUOTES) "As we push forward in our conquest of space -- and push forward we will, our shuttle program will besafer and better prepared for the challenges that lie ahead,"

'We've learned in these past few months that we're frail and fallible, but we have also learned that we have the courage to face our faults and the strength to correct our errors,' he said. 'Because we don't hide our mistakes we are not condemned to repeat them.

'America has a claim to stake on the future,' 'We've suffered a tragedy and a setback, but we'll forge ahead, wiser this time, but undaunted -- as undaunted as the spirit of the Challenger and her seven heroes.'

'We'll use every ounce of American skill, ingenuity and gumption, and we'll work twice as hard and be twice as vigilant,'

To sum up, Reagan admitted his mistakes and claimed that the nation's space program will be safer and better prepared in the future to become a renewed source of pride, despite the setbacks resulting from the shuttle Challenger tragedy.

iren [92.7K]
The sentence is not grammatically correct, it should be, "Last summer, Jim mowed one lawn, now he mows three." Mowed just one lawn doesn't make sense in one sentence.

What is the audience and purpose for Sojourner by Annie Dillard? How do you know?
Dvinal [7]

Answer: The audience for the essay Sojourner is every person that is interested in poetry-like and reflective essays. The purpose is to raise awareness of our roll on this planet, and how we are "the sojourners" in it. Annie Dillard uses metaphors such as comparing mangroves to humans, to convey the message.

Explanation: Annie Dillard speaks to a very general public, her audience is every person that would like to reflect on who we are for the world, and her purpose is to raise awareness on people through metaphors and allegories. She compares, for instance, mangroves to humans, saying that we are "the sojourners" on our planet, being nomads and not belonging anywhere, but she also refers to the planet itself as a sojourner.

Read this excerpt from “Into the Twilight” by William Butler Yeats.
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

In this excerpt, the statement that is the best interpretation of this excerpt is

The narrator enjoys the peaceful surroundings of the mountains.

This poem is not about preferences or adventures of any kind. The author wants to project to the reader the feelings that these elements produce on him. He uses the comparative with nature because of the conviction that it never changes.

When He says: "come, heart, where hill is heaped upon hill.." and mentions the mythical brotherhood of sun and moon and hollow and wood, and river and stream"

He is using these comparatives to represent the value of the happiness of giving love to another person without limit. It is the purest expression of love.
