because long ago every country that we know of now was once one whole continent. Since then we have had a lot of natural and human disasters happen that have changed the earth.

natural disasters

ex: volcano's, hurricanes, tornados, earth quakes

human disasters

ex: wars. duh!

3. in times when the society was built around catholic values, marriage and family was primary and pure, marriage was unbreakable, there was no such thing as a divorce, there were only annulments, that had to be approved by the actual pope.
