Why are there 30 cities named Washington in the United States?.
vodka [1.7K]

Well, are you aware that ALMOST every city in the U. S. Is named either after a place or person? I said “almost” because I wanted to leave space for discussion; Concerning if the U.S. The city was named for a different reason other than being named after a place or person. (Which I think would be a pretty cool discussion in itself.)

So to be clear, the reason why we have 30 cities named after Washington is that the people alive at the time these cities were being built came together and for whatever reason decided that would be the name. Each city name has an origin, a story of how people concluded that Washington would be their name.

I hope this answer sheds a light on the historical importance of each City and how they got to where they are now.
