The psychological and physiological state of being awoken is the arousal. The high level of arousal shows a decline in the performance. This process is represented with a graph that shows bell-shaped curve which increase and decrease with rise in arousal.

This law shows a relation between arousal and performance. The low and high level of stress disrupts the performance level. This law explains the average stress level not too low or too high is important for feeling energized, efficient and effective.
