based on visual appearance, id say Japanese anime is much closer to reality

than American cartoons. Japanese anime has an art style which is likely similar to the visual appearance of reality. American cartoons are kinda similar but the features and the art style are pretty different and some unrealistic.

Start with creating a tessellation shape using the "translation pattern". Your tessellation should be a recognizable (not abstract) object - animals, birds, insects, fish, etc.

Make sure you use detailing and colors(if you want to) as well :)
