The theory called  Noel Hypothesis  describes the subordinate and the dominant group of people development due to their contact . The main things that are responsible for the inequality that lies between the groups includes ethnocentrism, competition, and a differential in power. Noel Hypothesis states that radical or ethnic stratification is the concurrence when the groups that has ethnocentrism, competition between groups, and a differential in power comes in contact.  

The ability of the people to make judgement about the other society depending on the differences that exists in the traditions, religion, lifestyle and the physical traits are included in the ethnocentrism. Competition and the power difference that occurs between the groups are also the reason for the inequality between the groups.
