Compare and contrast dominant and recessive genes

Health

The main difference between dominant and recessive genes is that dominant genes get phenotypically exerted faster compared to genes that are being recessively transfered. These genes must have to be presented 2x more often (both alleles have to be recessive) for them to be exerted phenotypically.

Sample Response: As the name suggests, the traits controlled by dominant genes are more likely to appear in our children. Recessive genes will only have an effect when the corresponding dominant gene isn't present.

To the abdominal cavity.
Alla [95]

Answer:

The thoracic cavity is superior to the abdominal cavity.

Explanation:

The thorax and abdomen are part of the torso, in the human body. The inside of both forms a cavity that houses most of the internal organs.

Anatomically, the thoracic cavity -which contains the heart, lungs, and large vessels- is in a superior position with respect to the abdominal cavity, which contains the organs of the digestive, renal, and genitourinary systems.

The other options are not correct because:

The other options are not correct because:

 • Caudal refers to any area that is below another, closer to the lower body.
 • Anterior means "ahead", which is not the relationship between thorax and abdomen.
 • Distal has to do with anything that moves away from the center of the body, with the thoracic and abdominal cavities being proximal

A 20-year-old female suffered from spinal cord injury that resulted from a motor vehicle accident. She had spinal shock lasting
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

This condition may accompany a distended bladder or rectum.

Explanation:

Distended bladder or rectum usually refers to a condition in which urine is retained in the bladder because it is unable to empty it normally. This situation arises if either there is an obstruction in the bladder or loss of tone bladder muscles. Under these situations, the body is unable to detect the increased pressure or urge to urinate.

Hence, the spinal cord injury can disrupt the communication between the nerves in the spinal cord that control the bladder function.
