Take one of the equation and, 2X+6y=5 and x+3y=2, now take one of the equation and (-2) x+3y=2 then -2x-6y=-4 add the common factor with the other equation which would cross out both variable leaving 0=1

What is the ratio of boys to girls in Mrs. Carlton's class, which has a total of 31 students, 14 of whom are girls?
saw5 [17]

Answer:

17:14 or 17 to 14

Step-by-step explanation:

since you know there are 14 girls, subtract 14 from 31 and then you'll get 17. since its asking for a ratio of boys to girls not girls to boys, you put boys first, then girls. so your answer will be 17:14

Community Gym Charges a $50 membership fee and a $55 monthly fee. Workout Gym charges a $200 membership fee and a $45 monthly fr
zheka24 [161]
For the Community Gym:
Membership Charge = $50
Monthly fee = $55
So for the 1st month total charge = $(50 +55)
                                                       = $105
For each month the member pays $55
So after the 2nd month total payment = $(105 + 55)
                                                             = $160
After 3rd month total payment = $(160 + 55)
                                                 = $215
After 4th month total payment = $(215 + 55)
                                                 = $270
After 5th month total payment = $(270 + 55)
                                                 = $325
After 6th month total payment = $(325 + 55)
                                                 = $380
Now for the Workout Gym:
Membership Charge = $200
Monthly Charge = $45
So for the 1st month the member pays = $(200 + 45)
                                                                = $245
For the 2nd month total payment = $( 245 +45)
                                                      = $290
For the 3rd month total payment = $(290 + 45)
                                                     = $335
For the 4th month total payment = $(335 + 45)
                                                     = $ 380
So the 6th month payment in the Community Gym is the same as the 4th month payment in the Workout Gym. The amount will be $380.

ABCD is a rectangle. Find the length of each diagonal. AC = 2(x – 3) BD = x + 5
postnew [5]
Diagonals of rectangles are equal. AC = BD, so 2(x-3) = x+5. 2x - 6 = x+5. x = 11. Plug this into x+5 and you get 11 +5 = 16.
