A. A person can enjoy fortune's gifts but should not rely on them.

"Fortune smiled on her in the springtime, But come winter ... she fell from favor..." These lines in particular show that Fortune is capricious and totally unpredictable, so a person, indeed, should not rely on Fortune's gifts although he/she can certainly enjoy them if they come his/her way.
