Answer:

Active listening.

Explanation:

Active listening is an important skill in communication. It involves listening with all five senses. It usually takes time and patience to develop. As the name implies, active listening involves listening with full concentration to what is been said. An active listener tries to clarify  and understand the message being released. Active listening is made up of three elements:

i) Attention- Paying attention requires some effort on the part of the listener. You need to be focused on the speaker to grab every detail of the message. Avoid sources of distraction when trying to pay attention.

ii) Attitude- Having a positive attitude while listening matters a lot. An internal motivation keeps you attentive to details.

iii) Adjustment: Being flexible during the listening process. A good listener follows the speaker word by word until the speaker makes his final point.

The Valhalla Corporation needs to raise $84 million to finance its expansion into new markets. The company will sell new shares
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

It needs to sold 1,824,732 shares

Explanation:

we need 84,000,000 and also need to raise to cover the 850,000 expense

so total needs 84,850,000

then we will pay a 7% commision

so we need to have a gross raise of

84,850,000 / (1-0.07) =91,236,559.14

Now, we diivde this by 50 which is the offered price of the shares:

91,236,559.14 / 50 = 1.824.731,182 = 1,824,732

we round to a whole numebr as we cannot issue half shares.

Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

Loss on discontinued use of unit= $900,000

Explanation:

Company X sold one of its divisions for fair value of $15,000,000 while the book value is $14,000,000.

So they made a gain of $1,000,000

The division made a pretax loss of $2,500,000

Net loss= Pretax loss- Gain from sale

Net loss= 2,500,000- 1,000,000

Net loss= $1,500,000

Tax rate for Company X is 40% so taxed amount for the loss= 0.40* 1,500,000= $600,000

Loss on discontinued use of unit= Pretax loss - Tax

Loss on discontinued use of unit= 1,500,000- 600,000= $900,000
