Answer:

The correct answer is a) the inducer prevents the repressor from binding to the operator

Explanation:

In lac operon lac I gene synthesize repressor protein that binds to the operator region of the lac operon and inhibits the transcription of the mRNA  by partially blocking the promotor region of lac operon where RNA polymerase binds.

When the inducer is present it binds to the repressor protein and makes a conformation change in the protein as a result repressor protein is not able to bind the operator region of the operon and do not able to block the transcription of the lac operon.

Therefore in the presence of inducer transcription of operon occurs so the right answer is a) the inducer prevents the repressor from binding to the operator.

Which maps is an example of a Mercator projection?
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

As on all map projections, shapes or sizes are distortions of the true layout of the Earth's surface. The Mercator projection exaggerates areas far from the equator. For example: Greenland appears the same size as Africa, when in reality Africa's area is 14 times greater.

Julli [10]

A population of frogs with slightly different coloring is an example of microevolution. Microevolution is the changes in the gene pool of a population that can be measured and observed in short periods of time within a population. Microevolution can take place in several ways such as gene flow, genetic drift, mutation and selection.
