Participial, Participial

A participial is a verb used an adjective. In the first sentence, the participial phrase "Lying in bed" describes "I' by saying where I is when it hears the strange noise. The other participial phrase is "running the event". "Running in the even" describes who the committee is.

Prepositional phrases begin with a preposition and end with a preposition. A gerund is a verb phrase that acts as a noun. An infinitive is the basic form for all verbs and is usually preceded by the word 2.
