Find all zeros of the function and write the polynomial as a product of linear factors. f(x) = 3x4 + 4x3 + 13x2 + 16x + 4

Don't try anything positive.
f(-1) = 3 - 4 + 13 - 16 + 4 = 0 This one works so one factor is (x + 1)
f(-1/3) = gives a 0. So another factor is 3x + 1
The last factor is found by dividing 3x^2 + 4x + 1 into the original equation. That's (3x + 1)(x + 1) expanded.
When you do that you find that the last factor is (x^2 + 1)
You can see how this is factored at Wolframalpha dot com

You are 100m from the base of a tall building. If your feet are exactly 180m from the top of the building, how tall is the build
KatRina [158]

Answer:

the building would be 280 feet (judging on how this is worded.)

Step-by-step explanation:

you are already 100 meters from the base ( bottom) of the building so you add 180 as you are 180 ft from the top of the building. 100 + 180 is equal to 280.

there are 36 pupils in mr. castro mathematics class mr. castro wants to seperate the class into equal group for doing an activit
posledela

Answer:

He can use the factors of 36 to determine the number of groups he can divide the class into such that they are equal.

The Factors (excluding 1) are;

2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18

Using these therefore he can divide them;

  1. Into 3 groups each with 12 people.
  2. Into 4 groups each with 9 people.
  3. Into 6 groups each with 6 people.
  4. Into 9 groups each with 4 people.
  5. Into 12 groups each with 3 people.

The perimeter of a rectangular playground can be no greater than 120 meters. The width of the playground cannot exceed 22 meters
Maslowich

Answer:

There are an infinite number of values satisfying the requirements; every couple of numbers satisfying the following conditions are valid:

base = 60-w meters

width = w meters

0 < w <= 22

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the playground has a rectangular shape, let us us call b the base of the rectangle and w its width. In order for the rectangle to satisfy the condition of  P = 120, we need for the following equation to satisfy:

2b + 2w = 120

Solving for b, we get that b = (120 - 2w)/2 = 60 - w .

Given a particular value (w) for the width, the base has to be: (60-w).

Therefore, the possible lengths of the playground are (60-w, w), where 60-w corresponds to the base of the rectangle and w to its width. And w can take any real value from 0 to 22.
