Step-by-step explanation:

  1. Make sure that all the fractions have a common denominator (bottom)
  2. Convert the 1 1/3 into a mixed # 4/3
  3. What does 3, 4, and 6 all have in common? Use a factor tree.
  4. 24 and 12 are two examples. In this case, I am going to use 12.
  5. So now I have 5/6 times what to get to denominator 12 and same for 3/4
  6. For 5/6 I got 10/12
  7. For 3/4 I got 9/12
  8. Subtract 10/12 - 9/12 now because they have a common denominator
  9. 1/12
  10. 1/12x = 4/3
  11. Convert 4/3 --> 16/12
  12. You want to isolate x so in order to do so, get rid of the bottom denominator
  13. x = __

Suppose that a recent poll found that 40% of adults in a certain country believe that the overall state of moral values is poor.
shusha [124]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X be the no of adults whose feelings the state of morals is poor.

X has two outcomes and each trial is independent of the other

X is Bin with p = probability for success in each trial =40%=0.40

n=no of adults surveyed = 55

a)  The probability that exactly 21 of those surveyed feel the state of morals is poor is

P(X=21) = 40C21 (0.4)^{21} (1-0.4)^{19} \\=0.03519

(b)  The probability that no more than 22 of those surveyed feel that state of morals is poor is

=P(X

(c)  The probability that more than22 of those surveyed feel the state of morals is poor is

P(X>22)\\=1-0.9811\\=0.0119

(d)  The probability that 15 or 16 believe the state of morals is poor is

=P(X=15)+P(X=16)\\=0.1228+0.1279\\=0.2507

You joined an online coupon club. You earned 100 bonus points just by signing up. Each month you use the site, you earn another
Blababa [14]
So,

I'm assuming you want me to make a formula for figuring your points after any given month assuming that you use the site at least once a month and you don't spend your points.

After one month, you will have your base 100 points plus an additional 10 points.

100 + 10 = 110

After two months, you will have gained an additional 10.
110 + 10 = 120

We can put this into a function, where P is your points, and m is the number of months you use the site.

P(x) = 100 + 10m

So after 500 months, you will have:

P(x) = 100 + 10(500) = 5100 points!

This is identical with:
y = 100 + 10m

and

y = 10m + 100

So this can be graphed as a linear equation/function with a y-intercept of 100 and a slope of 10/1.

Evaluating functions
spayn [35]

(-1/4)x + 2 = 8

Multiply all terms by 4.

(-1)x + 8 = 32

Simplify.

-x + 8 = 32

Subtract 8 from both sides.

-x = 24

Multiply both sides by -1.

x = -24.

<h3>The value of x is equal to -24.</h3>

-1/4(-24) + 2 = 8
