What are the functions of the larynx and how does it carry out them on a daily basis?

Biology

The larynx is an nicknamed the "voice box" because it holds the vocal cords inside. It helps change the pitch and volume of our voices as we speak. It is the only part of the body capable of doing this job, so we don't ever want it removed. Our voices would be much more monotone sounding. The larynx connects the pharynx to the trachea in the neck. It is also capable of allowing air through for us to breathe, but does not let anything (food or drink) block the airway. This is obviously a daily function since we eat and drink numerous times daily and usually have no problems breathing while eating and drinking. This is thanks to the larynx.

Hope this helps! :)

PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:The tendency to maintain a stable, relatively constant

Explanation:

The tendency to maintain a stable, relatively constant internal environment is called homeostasis. The body maintains homeostasis for many factors in addition to temperature. For instance, the concentration of various ions in your blood must be kept steady, along with pH and the concentration of glucose.

how does codominance at the molecular level help to explain why evolutionary processes haven't resulted in the elimination fo th
Yanka [14]

Answer:

here.

Explanation:

Due to the prevalence of malaria in Africa, the allele for sickle cell anemia (HbS) provides a selective advantage. That's why it remains in the population.

A normal African person (HbAHbA), with normal haemoglobin, will not die of anemia, but will die of malaria.

An African person with sickle cell anemia (HbSHbS), with abnormal haemoglobin, will die of anemia.

A heterozygous African person (HbAHbS), with half of his red blood cells (RBCs) being normal and the other half being sickle-shaped, will neither die from anemia, nor malaria since the plasmodium will be incapable of completing its life cycle in the abnormal RBCs.

Thus heterozygous African people will grow, reproduce and pass on the HbS allele to the next generations.

True or false chromatin stores the cells DNA and controls the cells action
dybincka [34]
This is false. The nucleus of a cell stores the DNA and controls the cell’s action, but chromatin is the protein in the nucleus that folds DNA into tiny packages.
