The answer is 36

You simply square the linear scale factor 6 and we get 6^2 = 6*6 = 36
You can think of a square with sides of 2 by 2, so the area is 4
If you multiply each dimension by 6, then the square is now 12 by 12 and the new area is 144. Notice how 144/4 = 36, or put another way 36*4 = 144

mars1129 [50]

- 4x - y + 4

If x = - 14 and y = 3, we just plug in and solve

- 4(14) - (3) + 4

- 56 - 3 + 4

- 56 + 1

- 55

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

The fourth choice,  b = +\- sqrt( sg + a^2)

Discussion:

s = (b^2 - a^2)/g     =>              multiply both sides by "g"

sg = b^2 - a^2        =>               add a^2 to both sides

sg + a^2 = b^2       =>                take the square root of each side

b = +\- sqrt( sg + a^2)

which is the fourth choice.

Thank you,

Answer:

-3x^2 * x = -3x^3\\y * y = y^2

(-3x^2y)(5xy^2 + xy)\\

Use F.O.I.L, (First Outer Inner Last) to multiply. Start with -3x^y * 5xy^2

Start with similar terms

-3x^2 * 5x = -15x^3\\y * y^2 = y^3\\Therefore,\\-15x^3y^2

Move onto the xy portion of the problem

-3x^2y(xy)\\

Start with similar terms

-3x^2 * x = -3x^3\\y * y = y^2\\Therefore,\\-3x^3y^2

Combine the two together

-15x^3y^3 - 3x^3y^2\\

The answer is Option A
