The answer is 36

You simply square the linear scale factor 6 and we get 6^2 = 6*6 = 36
You can think of a square with sides of 2 by 2, so the area is 4
If you multiply each dimension by 6, then the square is now 12 by 12 and the new area is 144. Notice how 144/4 = 36, or put another way 36*4 = 144

A piece of work can be completed by 45 men in 90 days if only 30 men are available, how many days will it take to complete the s
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

  135 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Often, we measure work in man·days. This piece of work requires ...

  (45 man)·(90 days) = 4050 man·days

When there are only 30 men, the number of days required can be found by dividing this work by the number of men:

  4050 man·days/(30 man) = 135 days

_____

Another approach is to realize the time is inversely proportional to the number of men. If the number of men is 30/45 = 2/3 the original, then the time will be 3/2 the original, or ...

  (3/2)·90 days = 135 days.

How is experimental probability used to make predictions?
Oksana_A [137]

Experimental Probability is use to help make predictions by using materials that relate to the that probability so see if it could happen in real life.

consider the quadratic function: f(x) = x2 – 8x – 9 Vertex: What is the vertex of the function? ( , )
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

The vertex point of the function is (4 , -25)

Step-by-step explanation:

- Lets explain how to find the vertex of the quadratic function

- The form of the quadratic function is f(x) = ax² + bx + c , where

 a , b , c are constant

# a is the coefficient of x²

# b is the coefficient of x

# c is the y-intercept (numerical term)

- The x-coordinate of the vertex point is -b/a

- The y-coordinate of the vertex point is f(-b/a)

* Lets solve the problem

∵ f(x) = x² - 8x - 9

∴ a = 1 , b = -8 , c = -9

∵ The x-coordinate of the vertex point is -b/a

∴ The x-coordinate of the vertex point = -(-8)/2(1) = 8/2 = 4

- To find the y-coordinate of the vertex point substitute x by 4 in f(x)

∵ f(4) = (4)² - 8(4) - 9

∴ f(4) = 16 - 32 - 9

∴ f(4) = -25

∵ f(4) is the y-coordinate of the vertex point

∴ The y-coordinate of the vertex point is -25

∴ The vertex point of the function is (4 , -25)
