<span>The traditional men’s long house is called the bai or bai-ra-irrai. The bai is part of the longest lasting physical specimens of the traditional Belauan culture. This structure is located on an elevated surface assembled above a stone aggregate platform. In the island of Belau in the Western Pacific, this house reserved exclusively for the council of the village. The male chiefs are only the ones who exclusively use this building. The women of the village are not allowed to enter the building unless the rules are suspended. This traditional building has been occupied by the predecessors for the last 300 years. </span>
