Answer:

The question is:

Is the length of the hypotenuse a rational number?

No the hypotenuse is not a rational number.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given a right angled triangle.

Where the base and perpendicular lengths were given.

Let the base be b inches and the perpendicular be p inches.

From Pythagoras theorem :

The hypotenuse (h) =\sqrt{p^2+b^2}

Plugging the values to find the hypotenuse.

h=\sqrt{p^2+b^2}=\sqrt{4^2+6^2}=\sqrt{16+36}=\sqrt{52}

Note:If a square root is not a perfect square, then it is considered an irrational number.

And \sqrt{52}=7.211 so it is not a perfect square as it has decimals and its an irrational number.

The length of the hypotenuse is not a rational number instead its an irrational term.

Nataliya [291]
Well.. so many folks caught a cold
so many off that total, recovered,
keep in mind that, the folks who recovered
are just a fraction of the ones who were
sick

so... simply subtract the "recovered" polynomial,
from the "caugh cold" polynomial, namely
\begin{cases}
8t-5t^2+t^3\impliedby &\textit{caught a cold}\\
\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\textendash\\

\cfrac{5-t^2+1}{5t^3}\impliedby &recovered
\end{cases}
\\ \quad \\\
[8t-5t^2+t^3]-\left[ \cfrac{5-t^2+1}{5t^3} \right]\implies \textit{still sick}

Solve the system of equations below using a matrix equation.

Answer is b. ( -1, -5)

Answer is b. (-1, -5)

Step by step

Substitute the x and y values into both equations to find equality

 Answer b. Makes both equations equal

2x + y = -7

2(-1) + (-5) = -7

-2 -5 = -7

-7 = -7
it equals now let’s do the 2nd one

x - y = 4

-1 -(-5) = 4

4 = 4

This one equals too. I did the math on the other three answers and they did not equal.
