1 inch=8 miles
so if you had x miles on the scale then it is 8 times x mils in real ife

so you are trying to find acutal milage and then convert it to other map of 6 miles per inc
distance=1 and1/2 inches
multiply by 8
1 and 1/2 times 8=8+4=12

so the acual distance is 12 miles

then we convert it
6 miles=1 in
divide by 6
1 mile=1/6 inch
12 miles=1/6 inch itmes 12=12/6=2
2 inches

answer is C

A truck can be rented from Company A for $90 a day plus a $0.20 per mile .Company B charges $20 a day plus $0.70 per mile to ren
Alex787 [66]

The number of miles in a day at which the rental costs for Company A and Company B are the same is 140 miles

Rental cost

Let

 • Number of miles = x

Company A:

90 + 0.20x

Company B:

20 + 0.70x

 • Equate both rental cost

90 + 0.20x = 20 + 0.70x

90 - 20 = 0.70x - 0.20x

70 = 0.50x

 • Divide both sides by 0.50

x = 70/0.50

x = 140 miles

Therefore, the number of miles in a day at which the rental costs for Company A and Company B are the same is 140 miles

What is the valuable of x in the equation 1.8-3.7x=-4.2x+0.3
Mumz [18]

Answer:

x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

1.8 - 3.7x = -4.2x + 0.3

add -4.2x to both sides

1.8 - 0.5x = 0.3

subtract 1.8 from both sides

-0.5x = 0.3 - 1.8

-0.5x = -1.5

divide by -0.5 on both sides

x = 3

GREAT JOB!!!! YOU GOT IT!!! =)
