Answer:

a.)1 inches =72/7 miles

b.) 30.86

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Distance from liberty to west quall is 72 miles and it is 7 inches on the map.

To find : The scale on the map.

So, In 7 inches distance covered = 72 miles

In 1 inches distance covered=

Therefore, The scale on the map is

1 inches=   miles.

b) Given: Foston is between liberty and west quall and is 4 inches from liberty on the map.

To find : Distance between foston to west quall (F to W)

We know the scale of map i.e.  1 inches=   miles.

Firstly, we find the distance covered from liberty to foston i.e. 4 inches on the map

4 inches =   miles

4 inches = 41.14 miles

Now the distance between liberty to west quall (L to W)= 72 miles

and the distance between liberty to foston (L to F)= 41.14 miles

Therefore, the distance between foston to west quall(F to W)=distance(L to W)- distance(L to F) (Refer the attached graph)

Distance(F to W)= distance(L to W)- distance(L to F)

Distance(F to W)=72-41.14 miles = 30.86 miles

72 miles ... 6 inches
x miles = ? ... 1 inch

If you would like to know the scale of the map, you can calculate this using the following steps:

72 * 1 = 6 * x
72 = 6 * x     /6
x = 72 / 6
x = 12 miles

Result: 12 miles represent 1 inch on the map.

2 to the Third power -(30÷5) +9
OLga [1]

Answer:

11

Step-by-step explanation:

2^3-(30/5)+9

First, you divide 30/5 because it is in parentheses and we are following this rule for order of operations:

P- parentheses

E- exponents

M- multiplication

D- division

A- addition

S- subtraction

so 30/5 = 6 and plugged in is:

2^3-(6)+9

Next, we do exponents:

2^3 = 2x2x2 = 8

plugged back in:

8-(6)+9

Now, we do the math from left to right so:

8-6=2

2+9=11

11 is your answer
