Answer:

Probably because a drought does not mean that water disappears.

Turning off the faucet doesn't mean that water can't go down the drain, right?

3. Why doesn't the temperature of the water change while the ice is melting or boiling?
maksim [4K]

Answer:

In other words, the water molecules within ice move faster. However, temperature doesn't change as heat is added during a phase change; for example, when the ice melts. During the phase change, the added heat doesn't make the molecules move faster, but rather further apart.

1. Explain how a paleontologist might use absolute dating techniques to determine the age of a fossil.
sergey [27]

Here are your answers:

1. Paleontologist use the technique called "relative dating" which is when scientist compare rocks to determine the age. So if you have a rock which has a similar surface to another rock you could determine the age of that rock. You could also use the technique called the "radiometric dating" by measuring the amount of isotopes in the rock.

2. You can determine the age of a rock by "looking how rough or smooth the rocks are"... so lets say you fine a rock that has many points, sides, and rough edges which means the rock is actually pretty young so it was recently created and most likely a sedimentary rock, but if you find a rock that has smooth sides and no rough edges which would mean the rock is pretty old rocks could go up to thousands of years old and if a rock is that smooth it could be up too a million years old.

Hope this helps!
