First, try to talk to the nurse in private. Do not be accusatory, just remind them of the agency policies regarding wound care, & talk about what you observed and emphasise the wish to help, not criticise. If they are antagonistic and/or do not amend their wound care practice, then it will be necessary to speak with your supervisor about the matter. Ultimately, the duty of care to your patients is more important than one nurse's pride.

Please note that this is different from hospice for many reasons. The most common one being in that while, it is usually a specialty for patients dying of untreateable or chronic illness, hospice care is focused almost solely on end of life care. Palliative will attempt to maintain comfort, but can and most will continue to try and prolong the life of someone in their care.
