Inflammation, Tissue Repair, and Wound Healing Case Study Carlton, a 6-year-old boy, was playing on a sandy beach with his mothe

r. He began to run along the shoreline when he stepped on the sharp edge of a shell, giving himself a deep cut on his foot. His mother washed his foot in the lake and put on his running shoe to take him home. One day later, Carlton’s foot looked worse. The gash was red and painful. The foot was warm to touch and appeared swollen. Carlton’s mom put some gauze over the wound and prepared to take him to the local community health clinic. • What is the physiologic mechanism causing the wound to become red, hot, swollen, and painful? • How is this different than the inflammatory response that might occur in an internal organ? • What are the immunologic events that are happening at the local level during Carlton’s acute inflammatory response?

The inflammation here is totally different and is explained below.

Explanation:

As the tissues of foot are cut, the body senses the injury and immediate vasodialation occurs in the region which leads to the outpouring of different exudates in the interstitial tissue. This results in the increased osmolarity of the surrounding tissue which shows inflammed. This condition is painful too, and red in vision.

In the internal organs, the inflammation is mediated by macrophages which secrete different factors in response to external contaminants. These tissues get wrecked by macrophages in response to antigen and is totally different from this type of inflammation.

In the foot tissue, the white blood cells like monocytes and lymphocytes will accumulate in response to toxins that are inside the body. They will start the primary hypersensitivity in the tissue.

Patients get well faster when they have a healthcare team caring for them. Each team member plays a critical role in helping a p
TiliK225 [7]

A real-life example of when I had a negative health experience due to the team not working as a team, was when I was hospitalized for surgery, and there was a big mismatch of information, instead of being a quick one, due to the big confusion I couldn't do the surgery because I received food and couldn't eat.

How do you think the experience would have been different if the team approach had been used?

If there was a logistics and exchange of information, I could do the pre-op faster, and not have lost the day and not have the surgery.

How is a medical team formed?

The multidisciplinary team can be made up of different health professionals, such as

 • doctors
 • nurses
 • nutritionists
 • psychologists
 • and physiotherapists,

for example, and the team's formation may vary according to the objective to be achieved.

With this information, we can conclude that A medical team is made up of the best specialists. This is because the greatest asset of a clinic is the people, both those who work for it and those who undergo consultations at it.

What disease processes contribute to chronic heart failure? select all that apply.
AfilCa [17]

Tachydysrhythmias, Valvular disease, Renal failure contribute to chronic heart failure

Hypertension, tachydysrhythmias, valvular disease, cardiomyopathy, and renal failure can contribute to chronic heart failure. Pancreatic disease and pulmonary insufficiency do not contribute to chronic heart failure.

What is chronic heart failure ?

A disorder when the heart struggles to circulate blood throughout the body. It might take a while for it to develop. Shortness of breath, difficulty exercising, exhaustion, and swelling of the feet, ankles, and abdomen are among the symptoms.

 • Congestive heart failure, often known as heart failure, is a condition where the heart muscle is unable to pump blood as efficiently as it should. Shortness of breath is frequently brought on by this because blood frequently backs up and fluid can accumulate in the lungs.
