Inflammation, Tissue Repair, and Wound Healing Case Study Carlton, a 6-year-old boy, was playing on a sandy beach with his mothe

r. He began to run along the shoreline when he stepped on the sharp edge of a shell, giving himself a deep cut on his foot. His mother washed his foot in the lake and put on his running shoe to take him home. One day later, Carlton’s foot looked worse. The gash was red and painful. The foot was warm to touch and appeared swollen. Carlton’s mom put some gauze over the wound and prepared to take him to the local community health clinic. • What is the physiologic mechanism causing the wound to become red, hot, swollen, and painful? • How is this different than the inflammatory response that might occur in an internal organ? • What are the immunologic events that are happening at the local level during Carlton’s acute inflammatory response?

The inflammation here is totally different and is explained below.

Explanation:

As the tissues of foot are cut, the body senses the injury and immediate vasodialation occurs in the region which leads to the outpouring of different exudates in the interstitial tissue. This results in the increased osmolarity of the surrounding tissue which shows inflammed. This condition is painful too, and red in vision.

In the internal organs, the inflammation is mediated by macrophages which secrete different factors in response to external contaminants. These tissues get wrecked by macrophages in response to antigen and is totally different from this type of inflammation.

In the foot tissue, the white blood cells like monocytes and lymphocytes will accumulate in response to toxins that are inside the body. They will start the primary hypersensitivity in the tissue.

A nurse is assessing a client for risk factors for osteoporosis. which finding would be a concern?
trasher [3.6K]
 • The client report that she doesn't exercise much at all.
 • The client reports that she smokes a few cigarettes a day.
 • The client report that she is taking phenytoin to treat a seizure disorder.
 • The client reports that she takes a daily low dose of prednisone to treat a chronic respiratory condition.

The hip, backbone (spine), and wrist are the most often affected bones due to osteoporosis, which weakens bones to the point that they shatter easily. The term "silent illness" refers to osteoporosis since it might go unnoticed until a bone breaks.

Your bones, however, had been deteriorating for a long time. Sedentary behavior, cigarette smoking, excessive alcohol use, chronic disease, and long-term anticonvulsant and furosemide usage are risk factors for osteoporosis. A diet lacking in calcium is another risk factor linked to osteoporosis.
