The war of 1812 was no doubt a pointless one because the US didn’t really win the war and it was not worth fighting for too.

<u>Explanation:</u>

The reasons for which the US was fighting this war was not even achieved, and it gained none of the changes in the British policy, it also failed to achieve its military objectives and the war eventually resulted in several casualties with unnecessary deaths and uncountable damages made to the country.

The US won because the more powerful Britain was distracted in much larger conflicts at that time, otherwise the war would have misshaped US in a more dangerous way.  

The two countries finally settled their disputes with peace talks, US agreed to give up its demands and Britain promised to leave Canada’s borders.
