How do you find the slope of something on a graph

To find slope, you follow the slope formula: (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

If you're looking at lines on a graph, you'll want to find 2 points where the line distinctly crosses over the point line and pick that point.

I'll use an example with the 2 point: (3, 12) and (5, 36)

y2 = 36

y1 = 12

36 - 12 = 24

x2 = 5

x1 = 3

5 - 3 = 2

You're left with the fraction: 24/2

Simplify the fraction into 12

Therefore, the slope (or m) is 12.

Slopes can also be fractions, but they would be fractions in simplest form.

Write a linear function that models each situation. a 24. The enrollment at a local community college was 5,000 in 1960. In the
tia_tia [17]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  y = 250x +5000

Step-by-step explanation:

The "initial" enrollment is 5000, when x=0 years after 1960.

The rate of change of enrollment is ...

  change of enrollment / change in time

  = (15000 -5000)/(2000 -1960)

  = 10000/40 = 250 . . . . students per year

Then the desired equation is ...

  y = 250x + 5000

−5x2 - 13x + 15 = -5x
Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

5x^2+8x-15=0

Step-by-step explanation:

-5x^{2} -13x+15=-5x\\-5x^2-13x+5x+15=0\\-5x^2-8x+15=0\\

5x^2+8x-15=0 [we transposed]

I think thats it

PLEASEEE HELP!!!! The formula to find the period of orbit of a satellite around a planet is T2=(4π2GM)r3 where r is the orbit’s
Anna35 [415]
The answer is r = ∛(T²GM/4π²)

T² = (4π²/GM)r³

Divide both sides by 4π²/GM
T²/(4π²/GM) = (4π²/GM)r³/(4π²/GM)
T² * GM/4π² = r³
r = ∛(T²GM/4π²)

Find the ratio of the volume of one sphere to the volume of the right cylinder
yarga [219]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Let r be the radius of one sphere.</em>

  • Volume of sphere is V=\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3

Since radius is r,  the height of the cylinder will be 4r

Also, the cylinder has the same radius as the sphere: r

  • Volume of Cylinder is V=\pi r^2 h

Plugging in the values we get: V=\pi (r)^{2}(4r)=4\pi r^3

<u>Ratio of volume of 1 sphere to volume of cylinder is</u>:

\frac{\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3}{4\pi r^3}=\frac{\frac{4}{3}}{4}=\frac{4}{3}*\frac{1}{4}=\frac{1}{3}

The ratio is 1:3

Answer choice B is right.
