The term boycott is an eponymous that comes from the surename of the Captain "Charles Cunningham Boycott" who was the administrator in the states of the absentee landlord the Earl of Erne (County Mayo, Ireland). In times of famine he leadered a protest and his name went down in history with the intended meaning of protesting in order to achieve rights or better conditions.
