Before the War women lived a simple and subservient life and society deemed them only useful for chores, taking care of children, and cooking for their husbands. The War took America by storm and forced many Americans to stay indoors and change their daily lives. This made the women's skills in home economics, cleaning, cooking, and overall house skills quite useful and elevated their statuses in society. After the war the effect women had serving as nurses and cooks in military bases for the first time, contributing to society, and more left lasting effects on how society perceived a woman and her usefulness and propelled woman into a place of higher ranking and respect in media, society, and everyday life. Hope this helped!!
