A college student needs 11 classes that are worth a total of 40 credits in order to complete her degree. The college offers both

4-credit classes and 3-credit classes. Which system of equations can be used to determine f, the number of 4-credit classes the student can take to complete her degree, and h, the number of 3-credit classes?
F.) f + h = 40
4h + 3f = 11

H.) f + h = 40
4f + 3h = 11

G.) f + h = 11
4h + 3f = 40

J.) f + h = 11
4f + 3h = 40

Solve the equation : 8+10^x=1008
Marizza181 [45]
Hi there.

I'm just going to put the answer for now. I might come back and edit my answer if I figure out how to solve this the long way.

All I did was figure out what exponent you raise 10 to.

10³ = 1000

So, we now have 8 + 10³ = 1008

Edit:

I did it on paper - here it is broken down.

8 + 10^{x} = 1008

Subtract 8 from both sides.

10^{x} = 1000

We know that 10³ = 1000

x = 3

(05.06 LC)

Which graph best represents a decreasing function?
Nata [24]

Answer:

First graph

Step-by-step explanation:

The first graph is strictly decreasing because it starts from point (0;4) and decrease to point (4;0).

While graph 2 and 3 is constant

Since graph 2:y=2 and 3:x=1

And graph 4 is strictly increasing from (0;0) to (4;4).

Compute the value of the discriminant and give the number of real solutions of the quadratic equation.
Talja [164]

Answer:

2 reals and 2 rationals.

Step-by-step explanation:

The discriminate gives

b^2 - 4*a*c

b = -7

a = 5

c = 2

(-7)^2 - 4(5)(2)

49 - 40

9

Taking the square root gives you +/-3

The discriminate tells you that there are 2 roots, both real and both rational

x = [(-7) +/- 3 ]/2*5

x = (- 7 - 3)/10 = - 1

x = (- 7 + 3)/10 = -0.4
