Answer:

A= 109 B= 16 C=86

Step-by-step explanation:

Write an equation for each statement:

:

"The sum of three integers is 211."

a + b + c = 211

:

"The sum of the first an second integers exceeds the third by 39."

a + b = c + 39

a + b - c = 39

:

"The third integer is 23 less than the first."

c = a - 23:

Subtract the 2nd equation from the 1st equation

a + b + c = 211

a + b - c = 39

---------------subtraction eliminates a and b, find c

2c = 172

c = 86:

Find a using the 3rd equation

86 = a - 23

86 + 23 = a

a = 109

:

Find b using the 1st equation

109 + b +86 = 211

b = 211 - 195

b = 16

Length of the median CP
ehidna [41]

Given:

ΔABC \sim ΔDEF

To find:

The length of median CP

Solution:

In ΔABC,

AP = 12, BP = 12 and PC = 3x - 12

In ΔDEF,

DQ = 16, QE = 16 and FQ = 2x + 8

If two triangles are similar, then their median is proportional to the corresponding sides.

$\Rightarrow \frac{AP}{DQ} =\frac{PC}{FQ}

$\Rightarrow \frac{12}{16} =\frac{3x-12}{2x+8}

Do cross multiplication.

$\Rightarrow 12(2x+8)=16(3x-12)

$\Rightarrow 24x+96=48x-192

Add 192 on both sides.

$\Rightarrow 24x+96+192=48x-192+192

$\Rightarrow 24x+288=48x

Subtract 24x from both sides.

$\Rightarrow 24x+288- 24x=48x- 24x

$\Rightarrow 288=24x

Divide by 24 on both sides.

⇒ 12 = x

Substitute x = 12 in CP.

CP = 3(12) - 12

     = 36 - 12

     = 24

The length of median CP is 24.

Which angles are supplementary to each other?
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

Angle 4 and Angle 1 are supplementary to each other.

Step-by-step explanation:

A line is 180°. Because angle 4 and angle 1 and right next to each other and they share a straight line, both of their angles should add up to 180°, making these two angles supplementary.
