I would say that this would consider human rights to be important. Mostly because it’s such a big part of society now that people are creating new movements and new ways to live life. It’s important to know here things are okay from a legal standpoint even if you don’t believe in them. You can’t be bias.

Answer:

A modern politician should take the Declaration important because of the following reasons:

Pursuit of Marital Happiness

The Declaration as a document places all men as equals. The founding fathers argued that the Declaration is a set of principles that the U.S. Constitution should be inferred through.

Providing Human Rights

According to Declaration, If the government becomes too oppressive, the citizens of the United States have the authority to overthrow it.

It had a Complaints Department

The majority of the Declaration of Independence is a list of complaints the founding fathers had against Parliament and King George III. The authors of the document voiced their opinions on how their government had wronged them. Today we share this right to suggest areas our government can improve upon.

Rights of immigrants

Eight of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were not born in America. These American patriots were actually British citizens. The same thing applies today. Most of the US citizens are not US born but they are more patriotic than US citizens so they should not be treated badly.

Why did president andrew jackson not want to annex texas because he knew it would divide the nation. why did he think this?
natima [27]
Andrew Jackson worried that annexing (aka adding) Texas to the US would divide the nation because Texas would enter the Union as a slave state. During the early to mid 19th century, US presidents were constantly trying to balance the number of free and slave states. Their reasoning behind this is that they did not want any side (aka free states or slave states) gaining too much power in Congress.

During this time, Northern politicians were worried that having a lot of slave states in Congress would result in the slave states making slavery legal in all of the new territories gained by the US during the 19th century. The Southern politicians were worried that if free states controlled Congress, they would try to make a law/amendment to get rid of slavery.
