What is the sum of the first 30 terms of this arithmetic sequence? 6,13,20,27,34
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

3135

Step-by-step explanation:

Givens

a1 = 6

Use t4 - t3 to get d

t4 = 27

t3 = 20

Step One

Find a1 and d

a1 = 6

d = t4 - t3

d = 27 - 20

d = 7

Step Two

Find the 30th Term

tn= a1 + (n -1 )*d

t30 = 6 + (30 - 1) * 7

t30 = 6 + 29*7

t30 = 6 + 203

t30 = 209

Step Three

Find the sum using Sum = (a + t30)*n/2

n = 30              given

a1 = 6               given

t30 = 209         calculated from step 2

Sum = (a1 + t30)*n/2        Substitute

Sum = (6+ 209)*30/2       Combine like terms and divide by 2

sum = 215 * 15                  Multiply

Sum = 3135                      Answer

The demand function for a product is modeled by p = 400 − 4x, 0 ≤ x ≤ 100, where p is the price per unit (in dollars) and x is t
lawyer [7]

Answer:

Demand is Elastic when Price > 200 ; Demand is inelastic when Price < 200

Step-by-step explanation:

p = 400 - 4x

4x = 400 - p

x = (400 - p) / 4 → x = 100 - p/4

Elasticity of demand  [ P ed ] = (Δx / Δp) x (p / x)

Δx / Δp  [Differentiating x w.r.t p]  = 0 - 1/4  → = -1/4

P ed =  <u>-1</u> x<u> p </u>

            4   (400 - p)/4

= <u>-1</u> x <u> 4p </u>              = -p / (400-p)

  4   (400 - p)

Price Elasticity of demand : only magnitude is considered, negative sign is ignored (due to negative price demand relationship as per law of demand).

So, Ped = p / (400 - p)

Demand is Elastic when P.ed > 1

p / (400-p)  > 1

p > 400 - p

p + p > 400  → 2p > 400

p > 400 / 2 →  p > 200

Demand is inelastic when P.ed < 1

p / (400-p)  < 1

p < 400 - p

p + p < 400  → 2p < 400

p < 400 / 2 →  p < 200

In purchasing food for a political rally, you erroneously order shucked medium-size Pacific oysters (which come 8 to 12 per U.S.
dexar [7]

Answer:

3515

Step-by-step explanation:

Data provided in the question:

Dimension of the container =  1.5 m x 18 cm x 28 cm

volume of the container = 150 cm × 18 cm × 28 cm = 75600 cm³

also,

1 L = 1000 cm³

thus,

volume of the container = \frac{75600}{1000} = 75.6 L

Volume of the U.S pint = 0.4732 L

therefore,

Number of pint in the container = \frac{\textup{Volume of container}}{\textup{Volume of pint}}

= \frac{\textup{75.6 L}}{\textup{0.4732 L}}

= 159.76

Also it is given that

Number of Pacific oysters per pint = 10

Number of Atlantic oysters per pint = 32

Thus,

for 159.76 pint

Pacific oysters in container = 10 × 159.76 = 1597.6 ≈ 1598

Atlantic oysters in the container = 32 × 159.76 = 5112.42 ≈ 5113

hence,

order short of your anticipated count = 5113 - 1598 = 3515
