So first set up an equation. x= total charges.
h= hour.
40h+60=x now plug in for h which is 8.5  and then solve for x
40(8.5) +60=x now 40*8.5=340+60=400=x this is how much he got payed after working for 8.5 hours. hope this helped you have an amazing day!!! :)

Set up the equation ... 60 + 40X = total charges... where X is the number of hours (8.5)

60 + 40(8.5) = ?
60 + 340 = ?
400 = total charges

What integer represents a 5-point loss added to a 2–point gain?
Hoochie [10]

Answer:

-3

Step-by-step explanation:

5 point loss is -5,

2 point gain is (+)2.

If it's added, the expression will be -5 + 2.

-5 + 2 is -3.

-3 is an integer, because integers are whole numbers and their opposites.

If this helped, please mark it brainliest.. unless there is a better answer. Thanks.

Everything in a store is discounted by 25%. What is the sale price of a clock with a regular price of $24.60?
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

$24.35

Step-by-step explanation:

sale price⇒ total price-discount price

s.p=$24.60-25/100                              ∴25%⇒25/100

s.p⇒$2460/100-25/100                           ∴24.60⇒2460/100

s.p⇒$24.35

           ⇒$24.35

Which of the following sjows the correct key features of the graph?
sammy [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y = x^2 - x - 2 is a quadratic function.  It's easily factorable:  y = (x + 1)(x - 2).  Setting this result equal to zero yields the x-intercepts:  -1 and 2.  This matches the x-intercepts shown on the graph.

The axis of symmetry,  x = -b/(2a), derived from the coefficients 1, -1 and -2 of this particular function, is x = 1/2.  This x = 1/2 is also the x-coordinate of the vertex.  To find the y-coordinate of the vertex, we evaluate y = x^2 - x - 2 at x = 1/2, obtaining:

y = (1/2)^2 - (1/2) - 2, or y = 1/4 - 1/2 - 2, or -2 1/4.  This does not quite agree with the y value (-2) shown in the diagram, but is close.
