How to write a equation from a graph

Mathematics

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

So, if there is line on the graph and we need to get its equation in slope-intercept for (y = mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept). First, we have to take two points that lie on that line. Then, we will use the slope formula (m = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1). Once we get the slope, we have to find the y-intercept aka the b - value in the equation. So, to find this we have to take one of the coordinate point (that lies on the graph and was used to find the slope) and the slope. When you get the b - value, you have to substitute that value and the slope value into the equation. This is how you can write an equation from a graph.

Ex. (2, 3), (4, 9)

m = 9 - 3 / 4 - 2

m = 6/2

m = 3        <--- This is the m value aka the slope

y = mx + b         (In this case, we will use the first point which is (2,3)).

3 = 3(2) + b

3 = 6 + b

b = -3

y = 3x -3

Hope this helps!

Answer:

A Scatter (XY) Plot has points that show the relationship between two sets of data.

In this example, each dot shows one person's weight versus their height.

(The data is plotted on the graph as " Cartesian (x,y) Coordinates ")

Example:

The local ice cream shop keeps track of how much ice cream they sell versus the noon temperature on that day. Here are their figures for the last 12 days:

How to do Trigonometry
Ann [662]
For trigonometry, the main components that comprise this topic are the special wave functions, sine, cosine, and tangents. You need to understand their relationships with each other, and further develop your understanding on their role in geometry.

You need to conceptually grasp how right angle triangles are formed, and how to develop angles and sides based on incomplete information, using the three main wave functions.

On top of this, you will need to understand how each wave function transforms, such as being able to graph such wave functions with a change in amplitude and period. When doing trigonometry, you will also need to understand the subtle differences between radian angles and degree angles, and how to convert radians into degrees and vice versa.
