Klahoma was the first state to "unmask" the KKK. What does that mean?
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

Oklahoma was the first state forbidding people to publicly hide behind hoods and masks.

Explanation:

Governor Walton of Oklahoma dedicated himself to eliminating the Ku Klux Klan from his state in the years following WWI. However, his methods were considered extreme and controversial by many. This led to his impeachment on 1922. However, the publicity campaign that he had initiated showed everyone how dangerous and hateful the Klan could be. This led to the passage of a law that forbade people from publicly hiding behind masks or hoods. This made Oklahoma the first state to "unmask" the Klan.

The Articles of Confederation proved for many to be an ineffective way to run the new Republican government of the United States
Dmitrij [34]

The Articles could not simply be amended, but had to be replaced by a more effective government because it was practically impossible to change the document without the consent of all 13 states.

All 13 states would have to concur on a change because the Articles required unanimous consent for any amendments. That rule made it impossible for the Articles to be modified after the war with Britain ended in 1783 because of the rivalries between the states.

On November 15, 1777, the Continental Congress ratified the Articles of Confederation, the country's first constitution.

There was no taxing authority in Congress. Foreign and interstate commerce could not be regulated by Congress. Any laws passed by Congress were not enforced by the executive branch. There was no system of federal courts.
