8 0

Of the 16 small intervals indicated from 0 to 1 inch, the ant spans 14 of them, so

\dfrac{14}{16} = \dfrac{7}{8} \textrm{ inches} = 0.875 \textrm{ in}

How is 7/8 equal to 0.875?

Since 125(8)=1000 and 125(7)=875 we know

\dfrac{7}{8} = \dfrac{7 \cdot 125}{8 \cdot 125} = \dfrac{875}{1000} = 0.875

Part A - Construct a circle of any radius, and draw a chord on it. The construct the radius of the circle that bisects the chord
Julli [10]

Answer:

It can be concluded that the intersection of a chord and the radius that bisects it is at right angle. The two are perpendicular.

Step-by-step explanation:

i. Construct the required circle of any radius as given in the question, then locate the chord. A chord joins two points on the circumference of a circle, but not passing through its center.

ii. Construct the radius to bisect the chord, dividing it into two equal parts.

Then it would be observed that the intersection of a chord and the radius that bisects it is at right angle. Thus, the chord and radius are are perpendicular to each other.

The construction to the question is herewith attached to this answer for more clarifications.

storchak [24]

Answer:

x= -2

Step-by-step explanation:

The first thing I did was isolate the x's on one side.  I subtracted 38x from both sides.  This gives me:

-9x=18.

Now i divide both sides by -9.  Giving me x=-2

The owner of a computer repair shop has determined that their dailyrevenue has mean $7200 and standard deviation $1200. The dail
meriva

Answer:

The required probability is 0.0855

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

The daily revenue has mean $7200 and standard deviation $1200.

\mu_{\bar x}=7200

\sigma=1200

The daily revenue totals for the next 30 days will be monitored.

\sigma_{\bar x}=\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

\sigma_{\bar x}=\frac{1200}{\sqrt{30}}=219.089

As we know Z=\frac{\bar x-\mu_{\bar x}}{\sigma_{\bar x}}

Substitute \bar x=7500, \mu_{\bar x}=7200\ and\ \sigma_{\bar x}=219.089 in above formula.

Z=\frac{7500-7200}{219.089}=1.3693

From the standard normal table P( Z >1.3693) = 0.0855

Hence, the required probability is 0.0855
