Maybe because the reader or audience will perceive the story in many ways and someone will have misinterpreted the story

       Authors have to consider both a direct and implied audience because they have to imagine an audience that would be interested in and benefit from research (communicating a message directly to individuals) and an imaginary audience that can be inferred by reading or analyzing the text. The concept of audience can be confusing for writers because they have to find an audience that falls in between.
