The olfactory sensors are the sensors which are responsible for sensing or detecting the smell. In insects the olfactory sensors are present on the antennae. These sensors or receptors binded by the molecules of the surrounding air such as water vapor, or other that imparts odours. The neurons link with these sensors will signal the stimuli of the smell to the brain.

What is the role of carbon storage in organisms?? Plz answer fast in paragraph form if possible
belka [17]
Animals and plants need to get rid of carbon dioxide gas through a process called respiration. Carbon moves from fossil fuels to the atmosphere when fuels are burned. When humans burn fossil fuels to power factories, power plants, cars and trucks, most of the carbon quickly enters the atmosphere as carbon dioxide gas.

Why is it essential that the regulatory mechanisms that activate glycogen synthesis also deactivate glycogen phosphorylase?
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

There are two pathways occur in the same cellular compartment, and, if both are on at the same time, a futile ATP hydrolysis cycle results. Using the same mechanism to turn them on/off or off/on is highly efficient.

- "Glycogen Phosphorylase" activity can be allosterically controlled ATP and G6P allosteric inhibitors, AMP allosteric activator as well as, controlled through covalent modification, phosphorylation and via hormones.

- Reaction Catalyzed by Glycogen Synthase:

The activity of glycogen synthase is subject to the same type of covalent modification as glycogen phosphorylase, however, the response is opposite. Glycogen Synthase is activated by G6P. It is also controlled via hormones.
