2. A particular resource class must perform at a level consistent with the rest of the school to avoid being discontinued. On th

e first quarter statewide test, the mean score of the school was 78. The 14 students in the resource class had a 71.86 mean test score and a 17.52 standard deviation. The district informs the principal that the class should be discontinued because the average is below that of the rest of school. Is this reasonable or does the principal have evidence to support an argument against this decision

Answer:

t=\frac{71.86-78}{\frac{17.52}{\sqrt{14}}}=-1.311

p_v =P(t_{13}

If we compare the p value and a significance level assumed for example \alpha=0.05 we see that p_v>\alpha so we can conclude that we FAIL to reject the null hypothesis, and the actual true mean for the scores is NOT significant less than 78.

Step-by-step explanation:

Data given and notation

\bar X=71.86 represent the sample mean

s=17.52 represent the standard deviation for the sample

n=14 sample size

\mu_o =78 represent the value that we want to test

\alpha represent the significance level for the hypothesis test.

t would represent the statistic (variable of interest)

p_v represent the p value for the test (variable of interest)

State the null and alternative hypotheses.

We need to conduct a hypothesis in order to determine if the mean is less than 78, the system of hypothesis would be:

Null hypothesis:\mu \geq 78

Alternative hypothesis:\mu < 78

We don't know the population deviation, so for this case is better apply a t test to compare the actual mean to the reference value, and the statistic is given by:

t=\frac{\bar X-\mu_o}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}} (1)

t-test: "Is used to compare group means. Is one of the most common tests and is used to determine if the mean is (higher, less or not equal) to an specified value".

Calculate the statistic

We can replace in formula (1) the info given like this:

t=\frac{71.86-78}{\frac{17.52}{\sqrt{14}}}=-1.311

Calculate the P-value

First we need to find the degrees of freedom given by:

df=n-1=14-1=13

Since is a one-side left tailed test the p value would be:

p_v =P(t_{13}

Conclusion

If we compare the p value and a significance level assumed for example \alpha=0.05 we see that p_v>\alpha so we can conclude that we FAIL to reject the null hypothesis, and the actual true mean for the scores is NOT significant less than 78.

If a dart were thrown randomly at the dart board shown below, what is the
klemol [59]

Answer: A. 31%

Step-by-step explanation:

First you need to find the area within each circle. This can be found by using the formula: pi * r^2

The area of the circle with radius 8mm is 64 * pi. The area of the circle with radius 14mm is 196 * pi.

196 * pi = 615.75216

64 * pi = 201.06193

Now divide the larger area by the smaller area to get how many times larger the large area is than the small area.

615.75216 / 201.06913 = 3.06239

3.06239 rounds up to 3.1

Now we know the radius of 14mm has an area 3.1 times the area of 8mm. The area of an 8mm radius has 31% of the area of a 14mm radius.

The perimeter of a rectangular lot of land is 436 ft. this includes an easement of x feet of uniform width inside the lot on whi
telo118 [61]
Given the Perimeter of the Lot is 436 ft, and an inner building whose base measures 122ft by 60ft. The key in the problem is that the easement is uniform.

Let X be the measure of easement. See attached

You will derive the equation where if you add X on the length of the inner rectangle length and width, you have below equation

P = 2L + 2W
P = 2*(122+2X) + 2*(60+2x)
436 = 244+4x + 120+4x

Rearranging the equation by shifting all constant on one side.
8x = 436-244-120
8x = 72
x=9 ft

Answer is 9ft easement for with respect to the base of the inner building.

0.771 BTU/cubic ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume = 120*35*20 = 84,000cubic ft

Total BTU's = 2,400* 27 = 64,800BTU

64,800 BTU / 84,000 cu ft = 0.771 BTU/cubic ft
