Hello!

-2 + d = 97

d = 97 + 2

d = 99

I hope this helps you! Have a lovely day!

Hi! So if this a standard one step equation, you must move the -2 over to the 97 to isolate the "d" variable. To do this, you must do the opposite operation, which is +2, and do that do both sides. Once you do it to both sides it should be D=99.

The work should look like this:

-2+d=97

+2      +2

d=99

Find the area of a square with 6 1/2
koban [17]

Answer:

I'm guessing the 6 1/2 means the length of one side so you would just multiply 6 1/2*6 1/2 and that equals 42.25 (or 169/4)

A positive real number is 2 more than another. If the sum of the squares of the two numbers is 42, find the numbers.
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

From the first sentence x (the number) is 2 more than another number (y). So, x+2=y. The sum of the squares of the two numbers is 42, meaning that \\ (x+2)^{2}+y^{2}=42. First, we square root the ENTIRE equation to get rid of the square. If you do one thing to one side, you have to do it to the other. After this, we have x+2+y=\sqrt{42}. Now, we subtract 2 from the other side to isolate the variable. You can isolate either one but normally I go for x. Now we have x+y=\sqrt{42}+2. Now, we want to get y to the other side so we subtract it from the left side and the right side which gives us x=-y+\sqrt{42}+2. now we know what X is equal to. Now we plug in x for \\ (x+2)^{2}+y^{2}=42, which gives us          (-y+\sqrt42}+2+2)^{2}+y^{2}=42. Now we only have one variable which is what we want. Next, we square root the entire thing to get rid of the squares, which gives us -y+\sqrt{42}+4+y=\sqrt{42}. I got lost in my work. I must have done something wrong I cant find out. If anyone wants to pick up where I left off go ahead but there's a timer and I have one minute left. I cant finish the problem in a minute. I'm sorry and hopefully I lead you somewhere.

Given the graph y = f(x), explain and contrast the effect of the constant c on the graphs y = f(cx) and y = cf(x).
Igoryamba
Given the graph y = f(x)

The graph y = f(cx), where c is a constant is refered to as horizontal stretch/compression

A horizontal stretching is the stretching of the graph away from the y-axis. A horizontal compression is the squeezing of the graph towards the y-axis.  A compression is a stretch by a factor less than 1.

If | c | < 1 (a fraction between 0 and 1), then the graph is stretched horizontally by a factor of c units.
If | c | > 1, then the graph is compressed horizontally by a factor of c units.

For values of c that are negative, then the horizontal compression or horizontal stretching of the graph is followed by a reflection across the y-axis.

The graph y = cf(x), where c is a constant is referred to as a vertical stretching/compression.

A vertical streching is the stretching of the graph away from the x-axis. A vertical compression is the squeezing of the graph towards the x-axis. A compression is a stretch by a factor less than 1.

If | c | < 1 (a fraction between 0 and 1), then the graph is compressed vertically by a factor of c units.
If | c | > 1, then the graph is stretched vertically by a factor of c units.

For values of c that are negative, then the vertical compression or vertical stretching of the graph is followed by a reflection across the x-axis.

What will it cost to tile a rectangular floor measuring 280 feet by 27 feet if the tile costs $11 per square foot. Round to the
lawyer [7]

Answer:

687

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we want to find the area of the rectangle.

The formula is length times width, so it is 27*280, which equals 7560. We divide this by 11 to get 687.27272727.....(repeating)

The answer is 687.
