On any number line (that has an interval of 0), you have to take three steps to get to -3. We can solve this by taking the absolute value of -3 - 0 (that's the absolute value of -3 which is 3). The number of steps represents the distance that number is from zero.

It depends on the number line. The most common number lines are:


1 by 1 → 3 steps to the left.

0.5 by 0.5 → 6 steps to the left.


You might also encounter a 3 by 3 number line. In that case you'll have to go one step to the lefft.

If you take the total height and divide it by the number of cases it, it will then give you the heigh of just one case.
90 divided by 6=15
It’s 15 millimeters per DVD case. Then you take 15 and multiply it by 13 to get the total height of the stack of 13 cases.
