In general, you can do all of them this way.
1. Eliminate parentheses using the distributive property.
2. Collect terms.
3. Identify the variable term with the smallest (most negative) coefficient.
4. Add the opposite of everything on that side of the inequality and simplify.
5. Divide by the coefficient of the variable.
6. Add the opposite of the constant.

Using problem #5 as an example:
  7x -3(4x -8) ≤ 6x +12 -9x
  7x -12x +24 ≤ 6x +12 -9x . . . . . eliminate parentheses
  -5x +24 ≤ -3x +12 . . . . . . . . . . . collect terms. Left side has smallest x term.
  0 ≤ 5x -3x -24 +12 . . . . . . . . . . add opposite of left side
  0 ≤ 2x -12 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . collect terms
  0 ≤ x -6 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . divide by x-coefficient, 2
  6 ≤ x . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . add the opposite of -6

Other answers are ...
2. m < -3/2 . . . . . . . . . . . . graphed as an open circle at -3/2 and a line to the left
3. x ≤ 11 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . graphed as solid circle at 11 and line to the left
4. -1 ≤ x . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . graphed as solid circle at -1 and line to the right

You are dealt one card from a standard 52-card deck. Find the probability of being dealt an ace or a 6.
Ainat [17]

Answer:

2/13

Step-by-step explanation:

Since there's 4 of each card in the deck this means that there're 4 sixes and 4 aces, so 8 cards in a 52 card deck gives the problem 8/52 which equals 2/13

The value of a car is $30,000 and depreciates at a rate of 6.5% each year.
navik [9.2K]

Answer:$20250

Step-by-step explanation:

6.5% of 30000

6.5/100 x 30000

(6.5 x 30000)/100

195000/100=1950

First year depreciation 30000-1950=28050

Second year=28050-1950=26100

Third year=26100-1950=24150

Fourth year=24150-1950=22200

Fifth year=22200-1950=20250

Karleigh walks 5/8 mile to school every day . How far does she walk to school in 5 days
ziro4ka [17]

Hello, thanks for using Brainly!

First, our equation is: 5/8 x 5 = 25/8.

Our first step is to simplify.

When you simplify you get 3 1/8.

This is another way you can get it: (Multiply across. )

Number of the miles = \frac{5}{8} 5 = \frac{25}{8} = 3\frac{1}{8}

Enjoy your day.
