You first have to take $23 and divide that by $1.75 to see how many gallons she got put in her jeep. Then after that you want to add that to that 8 gallons to get your total gallons. Now you want to take how ever many gallons there is and multiply that by 21. $23 / $1.75 = 13.14..... 13.14 + 8 = 21.14 21.14 * 21 = 443.94 443.94 = 444 miles So they girls could travel 444 miles. Hope this helped :)

determine if the following system of equations has no solutions, infinitely many solutions or exactly one solution. x+y=5 2x-y=-
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

(2/3, 13/3)    (Exactly one solution)

Step-by-step explanation:

Write these equations in a column:

x+y=5

2x-y=-3

Note that we can eliminate y immediately by adding these two equations together. We get:

3x = 2, so that x = 2/3.

Substituting 2/3 for x in the first equation, we get:

2/3 + y = 5. Clear out fractions by multiplying all three terms by 3:

2 + 3y = 15, or 3y = 13.  Then y = 13/3, and the solution is

(2/3, 13/3) There is exactly one solution.
