Yes, I agree. But to a limit. For example, if someone stole money, the thief should repay the money and spend sometime in jail because he needs to repay the money of course and spend time in jail and then be released when the person learned his lesson in order toto teach the person a lesson and for wasting peoples time finding him. Another example would be if someone killed a person in cold blood then he should be repaid a life for a life and an eye for an eye. But if a person tortured and killed someone, then he shouldn't be tortured himself because it's inhuman and someone has to do it and if someone does exactly what a he does, the person is no better. The criminal should be executed because the lesson a life for a life applies. Religion wise, for example: the Bible does show that God wiped people who did wicked things because they corrupted the earth and did inhuman things that they did not deserve to live. But then there is the part of the Bible that says if someone strikes your cheek, let him strike your other cheek. So i believe that you should be loving as a human and forgive(but if someone does something that can be forgiven or not inhuman such as stealing then he doesn't deserve to die but to be taught a lesson) something that is inhuman. So for capital punishment, it should only apply if someone else loses a life or if the criminal did something inhuman and that he would never change from his ways but just continue corrupting the earth.
