Answer:

110 red bricks she add in order to double the total number of bricks

Step-by-step explanation:

Kali builds a tower using only red, green, and blue toy bricks in a ratio of 4:3:1.

The original ratio of red, green and blue is 4x, 3x and x

the total of the original is 4x+3x+x=8x

She then removes 1/2 of the green bricks

she remove \frac{3}{2}x

adds 1/3 more blue bricks

x+\frac{1}{3}x=\frac{4}{3}x

The total of new is 4x+\frac{3}{2}x+\frac{4}{3}x=\frac{41}{6}x

size is reduced by 14 bricks

total of original - total of new = 14

8x -\frac{41}{6}x=14

\frac{7}{6}x=14

multiply both sides by 6/7

x= 12

original number of bricks = 8x = 8 times 12= 96

total of new bricks =  \frac{41}{6}(12)=82

Double the original number = 2 \cdot 96 = 192

the number of red bricks needs to add is

192-82=110

110 red bricks she add in order to double the total number of bricks

Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

black = 0.28

white = 0.22

pink = 0.24

blue = 0.26

Step-by-step explanation:

Jason and his friend spun the spinner 100 times total. So for each time landed on a color, it can be counted as one percentage (for example, black had a 28% frequency). To transfer percentages to decimal form, simply bring the decimal point over by two spaces (28 becomes 0.28, something like 4 would become 0.04). Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any questions!

At a football game a vender sold a combined total of 240 sodas and hot dogs the number of sodas sold was three times the number
Sidana [21]

Answer:

60 hot dogs and 180 soda

Step-by-step explanation:

Soda was sold 3 times the number of hot dogs, and there were 240 in total.

So the equation would be:

3x + x = 240

3x being the number of soda and x being the number of hot dogs which like i sad earlier adds up to 240.

3x + x = 240

4x = 240

x= 60

60 being the amount of hot dogs and 3 time of soda would be 180 and adding them both up would be 240

How do i solve functions?
Maksim231197 [3]
Most quadratic functions(which is what you have there, to a degree of 2) are solved using factoring and the zero product law. If you can not factor then you have to use the quadratic formula or graph it. However this one can be factored.
It's pretty simple to just factor it by inspection but I use the chart method, if you know decomposition that works as well.
Factoring gives us,
(2x + 1)(x - 3) = 0
Then you set each factor to 0 and solve for x,
2x + 1 = 0
2x =  - 1
x =  \frac{ - 1}{2}
And the second one,
x - 3 = 0
x = 3
The solutions to this equation are
x = -1/2, 3
